For four performances at the Triad Theatre, Michael Winther will use his voice to introduce nine new composers of musical theatre, including works by Adam Guettel and Ricky Ian Gordon. The dates for Looking Forward: An Evening of New Theatre Music are May 21 & 29 and June 5 & 12. At the piano will be Jenny Giering, one of the composers featured in the evening, whose The Mistress Cycle will be represented. On May 21, she and Winther will be joined by composers Gordon (Dream True) and Lewis Flinn (Love in the Afternoon). Every performance, composer Debrah Barsha (the Keith Haring musical, Radiant Baby) will accompany Winther on her songs.

Guettel is the best known of the composers being sung, thanks to his Off Broadway productions, Floyd Collins and Saturn Returns and the upcoming A Light in the Piazza. Also featured will be Stephen Hoffman (Splendora), Brendan Milburn (Groove Lily Band), Steve Marzullo and Alex Rybeck.

Winther last sang on Broadway in 1776. Other New York credits include Damn Yankees, Artist Descending a Staircase, Gordon's Dream True, Hapgood (Lincoln Center), the original company of Tony 'N' Tina's Wedding and Forever Plaid.

Tickets are $12 with a two drink minimum. The Triad Theatre is located at 158 West 72 Street. For reservations, call (212) 362-2590.
