News   Midlife!, a New Musical Revue, Tests Its Comic Voice in NYC March 27-28
Musicals Tonight! inaugurates its Spring 2006 BMI Workshop Writers series March 27-28 with Midlife! The User's Guide, a new revue with music by Richard B. Evans, lyrics by Frank Evans and comedy by Jane Stroll.

The new show is produced by Musical Mondays Theatre Lab. The readings are at the 45th Street Theatre, 354 West 45th on Monday March 27 at 6:15 PM and March 28 at 2 PM. (Musicals Tonight! hosts the lab, and other events, when not presenting concert revivals of vintage musicals.)

The new Midlife! revue, featuring four singer-actors and Stroll performing her own material, "examines the sometimes harrowing, sometimes joyful experience of falling headfirst into middle age." Midlife is the winner of the National Alliance for Musical Theatre's producer-writer initiative Grant, funded by the Jamie deRoy and Friends Foundation.

Aaron Frankel, author of "Writing the Broadway Musical," directs this new musical revue about the perils of falling headfirst into middle age.

Richard B. Evans is composer of Theory of the Leisure Class and Frank Evans is the Jerry Bock Award-winning lyricist of Dinner at Eight and War Brides.

Writer and performer Jane Stroll has appeared live at Caroline's, Dangerfield's, and on TV's "Evening at the Improv" and "Caroline's Comedy Hour." The cast features Raissa Katona Bennett, Steve Belida, Marianne Challis and Carl Danielsen. Mark Janas (Talk of the Town) serves as musical director.

Midlife! is produced by Bick Goss, Frank Evans, Mary Ellen Ashley and Anne L. Bernstein for Musical Mondays Theatre Lab. General admission is $10. For reservations, call (212) 989-6706 or musicalmondays@aol.
