Los Angeles' Jewish Women's Theatre Project re-stages their production of Momma Mommy Mom -- Celebrating Jewish Mothers May 2 at the Gindi Auditorium. JWTP founder and artistic director Jan Lewis directs.

Featuring new and old comic and dramatic pieces by Ester Broner, Amy Bloom, Miriyam Glazer, Marlene Marks and Paul Wolffe, Momma looks at the Jewish mother beyond the jokey stereotype. In a statement, Lewis said, "Miriyam Glazer and I were tired of all the stories that make fun of Jewish mothers. Last year we thought for Mother's Day it would be exciting to stage something entirely different--a celebration of Jewish mothers."

Jewish Women's Theatre Project is in its third year, headed by founder and artistic director Jan Lewis. With an emphasis on theater by Jewish women, JWTP has produced Stacie Chaiken's Looking for Louie and will present Hair Pieces, a multi-ethnic piece about women and hair.

Tickets for Momma Mommy Mom are $15 and available by calling (310) 476-9777 ext. 201. Gindi Auditorium is located at the University of Judaism at 15600 Mulholland Drive in Bel Air.
