Manhattan Theatre Club, the New York City nonprofit that gives voice to new writers and unfamiliar plays, holds its annual Spring Gala May 15, with David Hyde Pierce and Linda Lavin serving as co-hosts.

The fundraiser evening at the New York Hilton begins at 7 PM and includes entertainment from Broadway performers from Kiss Me, Kate, Swing!, Aida and more, as well as selections from MTC's recent The Wild Party. A silent auction, dinner and cocktails are included in the evening, which has individual tickets ranging $750-$1,000. Tables for 10 go for $10,000-$25,000.

MTC is hot this season for spawning David Lindsay-Abaire's Fuddy Meers, which moved to an independent Off Broadway run; opening the world premiere of The Wild Party by composer Andrew Lippa; and having a smash with Charles Busch's The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, starring Lavin, Michele Lee and Tony Roberts. That cast is moving to Broadway in the fall.

MTC artistic director Lynne Meadow and executive director Barry Grove have been collaborators for 25 years.

New or recent works by Beth Henley, A.R. Gurney, Terrence McNally, Donald Margulies and John Patrick Shanley have been seen at MTC over the years. For information about the gala, call (212) 399-3000 ext. 146.
