News My First Time to Launch National Tour in 2008; International Productions, Too My First Time, which is currently enjoying an open-ended run at New World Stages, will launch a national tour in 2008, according to a press statement.

The international production rights for the new play have also been released by producer Ken Davenport. Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, France, Mexico, Israel and Korea are all planning productions of My First Time, which officially opened Off-Broadway July 30.

Davenport (Altar Boyz, Awesome 80's Prom) also directs the Off-Broadway mounting of My First Time, a new play in the style of The Vagina Monologues, featuring stories and anecdotes about people's first sexual experiences. The cast of four includes Bill Dawes, Josh Heine, Kathy Searle and Cydnee Welburn. Matthew A. Smith designed the production.

"In 1998," press notes read, "a decade before blogging began, a website was created that allowed people to anonymously share their own true stories about their First Times. The website became an instant phenomenon as over 40,000 stories poured in from around the globe that were silly, sweet, absurd, funny, heterosexual, homosexual, awkward, shy, sexy and everything in between. And now, these true stories and all of the unique characters in them are brought to life by four amazing actors in the acclaimed 90 minute play, My First Time."

My First Time features original music written specifically for, or relating to, first sexual experiences.
