The comedy quartet Nellie Olesons are performing Pulp Nellie at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club in New York through June14. The Nellie Olesons began as an offspring of the gay New York comedy group Planet Q four years ago. Since than they have been performing on the West Coast and New York.

Pulp Nellie is a series of sketches revolving around the life of Nora Burns, a New York journalist who does most of the writing for the show. Late-night porn ads, gay circuit parties, beauty pageants and sexual offender notifiction laws are the inspiration for several of the sketches.

The members of the troup include Burns; Marissa Copeland, who appeared in Richard Schechner's Three Sisters; Terrence Michael, a Hollywood screen writer; John Cantwell, who is currently appearing in Making Porn at the Actor's Playhouse. After performing in Making Porn Cantwell rushes to perform in Pulp Nellie at 10 PM.
