Barry Diller and Thomas Schumacher serve as honorary co-chairs for the evening that honors Eisner "for bringing kids to the arts and the arts to kids."
"Michael's contribution to 42nd Street and to Broadway theatre is remarkable. The New 42nd Street is delighted that he has agreed to accept The New Victory Arts Award for his longstanding commitment to entertain, enlighten and engage young people through the performing arts," New 42nd Street president Cora Cahan said in a previous statement.
The evening includes a musical performance, as well as remarks from Tony Award winner Julie Taymor, Bill Haber and Robert A.M. Stern. Appearances from members of the Disney on Broadway family are also planned. A gala dinner follows on stage at The New Amsterdam Theatre.
Eisner headed both ABC and Paramount Pictures before becoming chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company from 1984-2005, helping to usher the Disney catalogue to Broadway.
