News New Family Comedy The Last Days of Cleopatra Begins Performances Off Broadway Tonight Producer Georganne Aldrich Heller presents the world premiere of The Last Days of Cleopatra – a black comedy set in Dublin, Ireland – written by Laoisa Sexton and directed by Tim Ruddy, starting tonight, Aug. 21 at Urban Stages (259 W. 30th Street).

The production runs through Sept. 7 with an official opening Aug. 23 at 8 PM.

According to press notes, "In The Last Days of Cleopatra, a father, son and daughter must struggle to redefine the heart of their family, as they face losing the only thing that holds them together. As their family tapestry begins to unravel and old hurts boil and rise to the surface, will they survive as a family?"

The cast features Kevin Marron, Michael Mellamphy, Laoisa Sexton and Kenneth Ryan.

The production features set design by A Team, LLC, lighting design by Michael O’Connor, costume and make up design by Elizabeth Kirby and hair design by Lee Jackson and Arrojo.

Sexton's first play For Love premiered Off Broadway at the Irish Repertory Theatre in 2013  and she received rave reviews for both her performance and for her writing; Sexton is an actress and writer and frequent collaborator with director Tim Ruddy.
