News New Play Cover from Tony-Winning Producer Will Premiere at MITF July 15 Tony Award-winning producer Jim Kierstead will present Cover – a new play with gay themes by Bill McMahon– as part of the Midtown International Theater Festival at the Dorothy Strelsin Theatre (312 W. 36th Street) starting July 15.

Cover is billed as follows, "Peter is a 48-year-old executive who lives in a world of routine. David is twenty years younger, somewhat neurotic and trapped in a job he hates. A chance meeting between the two causes each to recognize in the other a kindred soul, and an unlikely friendship develops…and begins to grow into something much more as Peter and David find release, someone special to talk to and more important, someone who really listens. But when their wives start to connect the dots, and their cover of secrecy is ripped away, it becomes a question of whose happiness is most important in this quietly touching and painfully funny drama."

Cover features Karin De La Penha, Max Rhyser, Olivia Mell and Tony Travostino. It is directed by Paul J. Michael.

Kierstead (Rocky, Pippin, Kinky Boots) is also producing the upcoming Broadway production of You Can't Take It With You starring James Earl Jones and Rose Byrne.

The production runs July 15-July 29. Tickets are $18 and can be purchased by clicking here
