News New Tom Kitt-Brian Yorkey Musical Freaky Friday Will Have Developmental Lab A developmental lab of the new musical Freaky Friday — based on the Disney films and the novel by Mary Rodgers — will be held March 31-April 10, according to an Equity casting notice.

Produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, the new musical features music by Tom Kitt and lyrics by Brian Yorkey, the Tony-winning composers of Next to Normal and If/Then, with a book by Bridget Carpenter. Christopher Ashley directs.

The casting for the upcoming lab is by Tara Rubin Casting.

Freaky Friday, according to the casting notice, is a "musical comedy about a mother and daughter who swap bodies and gain a unique insight into the other’s perspective. They must figure out a solution, and fast, before tomorrow morning’s impending wedding."

Casting is for the roles of Ellie Blake, Fletcher Blake, Mike Riley and Adam. The role of single mom Katherine Blake has been cast.
