Sonia Friedman Productions will present the world premiere of Tom Stoppard's Leopoldstadt next year in London.

Directed by Patrick Marber, performances will begin January 25, 2020, at Wyndham’s Theatre with an official opening February 12. The 16-week engagement will continue through May 16. Full creative team and casting will be announced at a later date.

Stoppard’s new play is described as the story of a family who made good, a family who rediscovers what it means to be Jewish in the first half of the 20th century. Leopoldstadt is a drama of love, endurance, and loss.

Leopoldstadt marks the sixth collaboration between SFP and Stoppard; Stoppard, Marber, and Friedman last collaborated on Travesties in 2017.
