The concert will explore work by some of Yale's most famous alumni, as well as current composers in the Shen Musical Theatre writing program. Attendees can expect to hear the work of Stephen Feigenbaum, Peter Foley, Andrew Gerle, Adam Guettel, Sarah Hirsch, Jeremy Lloyd, Richard Maltby, Jr. and David Shire, Michael Mitnick, Alex Ratner, Joshua Rosenblum and Joanne Lessner, Zak Sandler, Ted Shen, Mark Sonnenblick, Jeffrey Stock, Ben Wexler, Maury Yeston, and one of Yale's most illustrious alumni, Cole Porter. Interpreting the songs will be Drew Gehling, Jenny Powers, Sally Wilfert, Michael Winther and J. Michael Zygo as well as emerging talent from Yale's musical theatre performance program.
Annette Jolles will direct the evening; the singers will be accompanied by Grant Wenaus on piano, with Stephen Benson on guitar, Greg Thymius on clarinet and Clay Ruede on cello. The concert will also feature arrangements by Tony winner Martin Lowe, Matt Aument and Neil Douglas Reilly.
