Although the West End is carrying on, Sadler's Wells has been hit by the after-effects of the attacks in New York.
The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's sold-out one-week appearance at Sadler's Wells has had to be canceled, the Islington theatre has announced.
As the performances were only cancelled by the American company on Friday, in the wake of the events in the United States, Sadler's Wells has no plans to fill the resulting gap between now and next week's season of Russian ballet.
Fortunately, it looks as though Sadler's Wells is the only major London theatre to have been so directly affected by the attacks in New York. The West End, having marked the atrocities by a dimming of lights on Sept. 14, continues with its full range of theatre.
