Held at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, the concert will be conducted by music director Steven Reineke and feature clarinetist Dave Bennett.
Selections will include "Blues in the Night," "And the Angels Sing" and "I Got Rhythm."
“The program also pays tribute to the 75th anniversary of Benny Goodman’s storied debut at Carnegie Hall with his jazz orchestra," press notes state. "The concert, which took place on Jan. 16, 1938, helped to elevate the status of swing music in the US and beyond, and included some of the brightest jazz luminaries of the day, including Count Basie and members of the Duke Ellington orchestra. The recording of Goodman’s performance at Carnegie Hall remains one of the best-selling jazz albums of all time."
The concert will also feature the winners of the Strictly Lindy Dance and Contest, which will be held Sept. 26 at 8 PM at Providence NYC. Judges, including Reineke and Glover, will determine the top three semi-finalists, and videos of their performances will be shared on Carnegie Hall's YouTube channel for public voting beginning Oct. 1. The winning couple will be announced Oct. 18 and will appear onstage with the orchestra during the Nov. 1 concert.
