News New York's York to Offer Staged Reading of Musical Little Women, Oct. 15-24 Off-Broadway's York Theatre Company will present six staged readings of the musical Little Women, Oct. 15-24, said York spokesman Kevin Rehac (of the Keith Sherman office). The work, by Allan Knee (book), Kim Oler (music) and Alison Hubbard (lyrics), won the 1998 Richard Rodgers Development Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.

Off-Broadway's York Theatre Company will present six staged readings of the musical Little Women, Oct. 15-24, said York spokesman Kevin Rehac (of the Keith Sherman office). The work, by Allan Knee (book), Kim Oler (music) and Alison Hubbard (lyrics), won the 1998 Richard Rodgers Development Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Little Women is a musicalization of Louisa May Alcott's novel of four sisters in Civil War-era New England. Thomas Edward West will direct the reading, according to an Equity casting notice. Mark Goodman is the music director. No cast has been selected.
