The two-CD set, which features more than 30 songs, is available on the Ghostlight Records label. To celebrate the recording, cast members will perform at the Barnes & Noble Lincoln Center (1972 Broadway at 66th Street) May 12 at 4 PM. The entire company as well as co-creators Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey will be on hand to sign CDs following the free performance.
The cast — including Alice Ripley, J. Robert Spencer, Aaron Tveit, Jennifer Damiano, Adam Chanler-Berat and Louis Hobson — recorded the CD Feb. 11 and 12 in Manhattan. Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Records president Kurt Deutsch and Grammy Award winner Joel Moss produced the recording.
Next to Normal features music by Tom Kitt and book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey. The new musical was recently nominated for 11 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
