The No Pants Theatre Company will close its production of Dominic Orlando's comedy Bravo, NY! at the Samuel Beckett Theatre Feb. 28. Performances began Feb. 5.
In the impersonal world of New York, wealthy developer Duncan Thyme creates "The Empire Awards" to celebrate New York's centennial and to recast himself as a patron of the city. He hires "Bravo, NY!", a caterer entirely peopled by struggling artists who plan to turn his event into a soire reminiscent of a Fred Astaire film.
Karin Bowersock directs the Bravo company which features Mahasin Ali, James Anderson, Sarah Bakker, David Dial, Daren Firestone, Brendan Lieb, Dan Lundy, Mark Poppleton, Frank Spinelli and Christopher Winfield.
No Pants, in residence at SoHo's Synchronicity Space since 1992, recently performed Monkey Sun at Pasinger/Fabrik Theatre in Munich. Other projects have included Heart of Earth, Performance, Troy and Superman is Dead.
Tickets for Bravo, NY are $20 and available by calling the box office at (212) 673-3852. The Samuel Beckett Theatre is located on Theatre Row at 412 West 42nd Street. -- By Christine Ehren
