The company is returning to the region, having performed in Amman's Al Hussein Theater in 2008.
Racey (Curtains, Never Gonna Dance) will be joined by Erin Denman (42nd Street), Danny Gardner (Goodspeed’s Singin' in the Rain), Con O’Shea-Creal (White Christmas) and Melinda Sullivan (“So You Think You Can Dance”). The performances will be conducted and musically directed by Andrew Gerle and feature percussionist Alex Beckmann.
Songs heard in the performances will include “I’ve Got You Under My Skin,” “Steam Heat” and “Sunny Side of the Street,” among many others.
“It is incredibly exciting to see something that started as a labor of love gain momentum in such a vibrant, global way," Racey said in a statement. "The reception from our first visit was positively inspiring. We’re thrilled to be returning!”
The company will play Jerusalem Sept. 30-Oct. 2 and Amman Oct. 4-6. For more information, visit newyorktapensemble.com.
