Jack Ruby, the man who killed the man who killed John F. Kennedy's Camelot, is the subject of the Lost Tribe Theatre Company's Camelot's Ruby, opening Feb. 14 at the Bank Street Theatre. Sylvia Boyd directs the play, which runs through March 4. Erwin Pally penned Ruby an examination of Ruby, the man who killed Lee Harvey Oswald. Was this killer, elevated to almost Shakespearean proportions in the script, a patriot? A Mafia lackey? A violent criminal? Or a man trying to protect a brother?
John Joseph Gallagher stars as Ruby. Also in the cast are Steven David, Marit DeLozier, Deann Halper, Richard Kelly, Joseph Pallister, Jerome Richards, James Sweeney and Gene Terinoni.
Designing Ruby are Scott Boyd (sets), Daniel Walker (lighting), Leni Dyer (costumes) and John Moseley (sound).
Tickets are $12. The Bank Street Theatre is located at 155 Bank Street between Washington and West Streets. For reservations, call (212) 592 3312.
