The production is scheduled for a multi-city tour in 2011 starring Max McLean beginning Jan. 15, 2011, at the Alex Theater in Glendale, CA. Other tour dates include Jan. 29 at the Balboa Theatre in San Diego, CA; Feb. 12 at the Arlene Schnitzer Hall in Portland, OR; Feb. 26 at the Moore Theatre in Seattle, WA; and March 19 at the Pikes Peak Center in Colorado Springs, CO.

"We are delighted by the way New York audiences have embraced C. S. Lewis's The Screwtape Letters," said executive producer Ken Denison. "They have been incredible. Now we embark on a tour where we hope that audiences will embrace the production in the same favorable way that it has been received in cities such as NYC, Washington D.C., and Chicago."

The novel was adapted for the stage by Jeffrey Fiske and Max McLean. McLean also stars; Karen Eleanor Wight is featured.

"In this inverted moral universe set in an office in hell," production notes state, "God is called the 'Enemy' and the devil is referred to as 'Our Father below.' . . . [McLean] creates a 'master of the universe' character, all too familiar to New Yorkers, whose rhetorical flourishes mesmerize while he persuades. At his feet is the creature-demon, Toadpipe, who transforms into the paragons of vice Screwtape conjures with a flick of his fingers."

McLean won the 2009 Jeff Award for Solo Performance for his work. Scenic design is by Cameron Anderson, costumes are by Michael Bevins and lighting by Jesse Klug. Original music and sound design are by John Gromada.
