News Olympia Dukakis Honored at Aquila Theatre Co. Benefit May 15; She's Clytemestra in 2004 Aquila Theatre Company, the Off-Broadway troupe that uses British and U.S. actors, directors and designers to reimagine classics, will honor film and stage actress Olympia Dukakis May 15 at A Midsummer Night's Merriment in Manhattan.

The evening is a benefit for the not-for-profit company known for its boldly physical productions of such plays as The Comedy of Errors, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Much Ado About Nothing..

Merriment begins with a wine reception at 6 PM followed by a  performance of the Aquila's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream at the New Victory Theatre (209 West 42nd Street) at 7 PM.

Since 1991, the Aquila Theatre Company has been presenting innovative productions of classical drama. In early 2004, Dukakis will join the company in a production of The Agamemnon, artistic director Peter Meineck's translation of the Aeschylus tragedy.

"We're using this occasion to welcome her into the company," Meineck told Playbill On-Line, adding that production details about the tragedy will be announced at the benefit.
