News One More Knight: Mancha Adds New Final Performance Broadway's revival of Man of La Mancha, starring Brian Stokes Mitchell and Marin Mazzie, will play its last performance at 7:30 PM Aug. 31, rather than that same day's matinee.

The additional Sunday performance was added to make up for the Aug. 14 show lost to the recent national blackout. Upon closing, Mancha will have played 16 previews and 304 regular performances. The classic Joe Darion-Mitch Leigh-Dale Wasserman musical version of Cervantes' "Don Quixote" is currently playing the Al Hirschfield Theatre (formerly the Martin Beck) and stars Mitchell (who was Tony Award nominated for tackling the dual roles of Cervantes and Don Quixote). Marin Mazzie recently stepped into the role of Aldonza/Dulcinea following Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio's Tony-nommed turn in the part. Ernie Sabella plays Sancho. This staging, directed by Jonathan Kent, opened Dec. 5, 2002.

A cast recording was issued on RCA, preserving what many saw as the draw to this production: The passionate baritone of Brian Stokes Mitchell, one of the major leading men of today's musical theatre.

Mazzie and Mitchell peformed together in Ragtime and Kiss Me, Kate.
