The Common Basis Theatre will present the world premiere of Bleecker Street Comics, a new play by Leslie Caputo, beginning Nov. 2. The play is set in a Greenwich Village comic store, run by a father and his teenage son. They get completely involved in the life of the comic book heroes that surround them and with friends who come to the shop. However, when the mother who abandoned them 12 years ago returns, their entire world is challenged, and they face emotions that had almost been completely forgotten.
The cast features Jack Caputo, Andrew Farrar, Etienne Navarre, Olga Denoi and Susan Kostalow. They will be directed by Marcia Haufrecht.
Bleecker Street Comics runs Nov. 2-30. For tickets ($15) and more information, call (212) 340-1112 or visit the Common Basis Theatre's website at www.commonbasis.org.
