News Open Auditions to be Held for London Edition of Million Dollar Quartet, Planned for 2011 Open auditions will be held in London, Glasgow, Liverpool, Bristol and Dublin to find a set of actor/singer/musicians to play the roles of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis in a planned West End edition of the Tony-nominated Broadway show Million Dollar Quartet. The production is due to open in London in 2011.

In a press statement on behalf of all the producers, Joseph Smith and Michael McCabe said: "Million Dollar Quartet delivers the thrilling mix of brilliant music with a fascinating story, set in 1956 when all four of these music legends were in their creative prime. Our exploratory casting search to run throughout the UK and Ireland really does highlight the uniqueness of the show, as we need to find outstandingly gifted musicians who can also create the persona of the quartet and ultimately embody the spirit of these iconic stars rather than merely impersonating them." The open auditions will be held in London Sept. 13, Glasgow Sept. 20, Liverpool Sept. 21, Bristol Sept. 22 and Dublin Sept. 23. Those auditioning should prepare one song performed by one of the artists listed, or a song in that style from that era. Guitarists should bring their own guitar. Pianists will be provided with a piano at the audition, as they will need to accompany themselves.
