News   Original Beauty and the Beast Star Celebrates New "Softly" CD Tonight
Susan Egan, who received a Tony nomination for creating the role of Belle in the original Broadway company of Beauty and the Beast, celebrates her seventh solo recording with a Nov. 21 concert in California.


Entitled "Softly," the new disc teams Egan with classical pianist and composer Stephen Cook and acclaimed Cuban jazz flutist Danilo Lozano, bringing the "music of her beloved Broadway to a mainstream audience with an easy, elegant, acoustic sound," according to press notes.

To celebrate the CD, Egan, Cook and Lozano are offering Susan Egan and Friends Nov. 21 at 7:30 PM at the Ruth B. Shannon Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Whittier College in Southern California. Egan just completed a year-long tour of more than 40 solo concerts and has concert dates with symphonies and on the high-seas with Disney Cruise Line throughout this coming year. She has also been seen on Broadway in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Cabaret and Triumph of Love.
