News Pajama Game to Offer Extension of Five Benefit Performances The hit, sold-out production of The Pajama Game, starring Harry Connick, Jr., and Kelli O'Hara, has added five special benefit performances to the end of its schedule.

The show, which was scheduled to close on June 11, will now perform on June 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17, all shows at 7 PM. All five evenings will benefit The Actors’ Fund of America, The New Orleans Habitat Musicians’ Village and Roundabout Theatre Company’s Education Programs & Musical Theatre Fund.

Connick is a New Orleans native and has been active in aiding the city since it was decimated by Hurricane Katrina last September.

In a statement, Connick said: “The Broadway community has been so supportive and welcoming to me in my debut that I simply had to find a way to show my appreciation. The producers, cast and crew have generously agreed to join me in extending the run of The Pajama Game for a series of benefit performances. All proceeds from these five shows will benefit the Broadway Community as well as the displaced musicians of my hometown of New Orleans. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and as we say in New Orleans, 'EH LA BAS.'”

Tickets for the five benefit performances will go on sale through an exclusive VISA cardholder pre-sale period beginning Sunday, April 9 through Saturday, April 15. Visa Signature cardholders have access to preferred seating. Call (212) 719-1300 or go online at www.roundabouttheatre.org. Ticket prices range from $250-$2,500.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on April 16 and may be purchased by calling Roundabout Ticket Services at (212) 719-1300, online at www.roundabouttheatre.org or at the American Airlines box office (227 West 42nd St.). *

In other Pajama Game news, purchasers of the new Broadway cast recording will get a double dose of Harry Connick, Jr., for their money.

The recording, released by Columbia Records, will be titled "Harry on Broadway, Act I." The first CD will include much of the score of the new Roundabout Theatre Company production of The Pajama Game, which stars Connick as Sid Sorokin and Kelli O'Hara as Babe Williams, and is currently playing a sold-out run at the American Airlines Theatre.

The second CD will continue the Pajama Game recording and then continue with new versions of selected songs from Connick's earlier Broadway musical, Thou Shalt Not, sung by Connick and O'Hara. Thou Shalt Not, which ran briefly during the 2001-02 season, was Connick's debut as a musical composer. Pajama Game represented his Broadway acting debut.

The CD should give a new lease on life for Thou Shalt Not, the score of which did not find a major recording label following its Broadway run, though it was retailed through the website Amazon.com.
