Patrick Marber's award-winning play Closer will receive its Paris premiere on Dec. 22. at the Theatre Fontaine.

The play will be directed by Patrice Kerbrat, who has directed, among other things, the original Paris, Moscow and Tokyo productions of Yasmina Reza's Tony-winning Art . Closer has been translated into French by Pierre Laville whose next project will be an adaptation of Noel Coward's Private Lives .

Closer 's leading ladies will be Anne Brochet as Alice and Caroline Sihol as Anna. Both have starred opposite Depardieu, father and son, in the period film "All The Mornings of The World." Brochet can also be seen as Roxane opposite Gerard Depardieu's "Cyrano de Bergerac" in the movie version directed by Jean-Paul Rappeneau. As for Closer 's male stars, Jean-Philippe Ecoffey will be Larry and Gad Elmaleh will be Dan.
