News Patrick Wilson Lands Role in Afterlife-Themed CBS Pilot Two-time Tony Award nominee Patrick Wilson, most recently on Broadway in the revival of All My Sons, has landed a lead role in a new pilot for CBS.

The Hollywood Reporter says that actor-singer Wilson will play a character named Michael in the untitled Susannah Grant pilot for CBS. The series, according to the industry paper, concerns a "surgeon with a direct line to the afterlife via his ex-wife."

Jonathan Demme, who is is executive producing the series, will also direct the pilot.

Wilson's latest film, "Insidious," is due in cinemas April 1.

Patrick Wilson scored raves and a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in HBO's "Angels in America." He received Tony nominations for his work in Oklahoma! and The Full Monty and made his Broadway debut in The Gershwins' Fascinating Rhythm; he was also seen on Broadway in Barefoot in the Park. Wilson's screen credits include Raoul in the film of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera as well as "Watchmen," "Purple Violets," "Running with Scissors," "Little Children," "Hard Candy" and "The Alamo."
