Two-time Tony Award winner Patti LuPone will return to the gothic Showtime series Penny Dreadful in an all-new role for its third season.
LuPone guest-starred as a different character in the show’s second season. Season three premieres May 1 at 10 PM. Penny Dreadful is created, written and executive-produced by Tony-winning playwright John Logan.
In season three, according to Showtime, LuPone returns “in the new role of Dr. Seward, an American therapist who treats Vanessa (Eva Green) with an unconventional new approach.”
The cast also features Josh Hartnett, Timothy Dalton, Eva Green, Wes Studi, Shazad Latif, Christian Camargo, Sam Barnett, Jessica Barden, Billie Piper, Reeve Carney, Perdita Weeks, Simon Russell Beale, Sarah Green, Rory Kinnear and Harry Treadaway.
