News Pearl Mounts Moliere's Imaginary Invalid, Oct. 1-Dec. 12 The Pearl Theatre Company, the dependable Off-Broadway incubator of classics, will stage a new production of Moliere's The Imaginary Invalid beginning Oct. 1. The show will play Theatre 80 in the East Village through Dec. 12.

Robert Hock will take on the central role of Argan, a miser and hypochondriac, who lives with his two daughters (one marriageable) and their stepmother. As is often the case in Moliere, there is also a sensible brother whose advice is never heeded, and an insolent maid who speaks her mind. The cast includes Joanna Camp, Dominic Cuskern, Allison Nichols, Christopher Moore, Sean McNall and Carol Schultz.

Invalid was Moliere's final work. He played the title role and, ironically, given the title, died following the fourth performance after suffering a coughing fit.
