Directed by TMT artistic director David Herskovits, the cast will feature TMT company member David Greenspan with Ugo Chukwu, Rachel Claire, Amir Darvish, Susan Hyon, Meg MacCary, Julia Sirna-Frest, J.H. Smith III and Sam T. West.
Performances are scheduled through March 30.
Here's how the work is billed: "The shtetl turns uncanny in Hirschbein's classic of Yiddish life. You might be expecting the farm life, the chicken-plucking and the arranged marriage, but not the S&M lust and the body-snatching wedding guests. The (*) Inn was an early touchstone for experimental theatre in Yiddish, a sensation in Vilna, in London and in a 1917 New York production. This play is a perfect example of why TMT believes Yiddish drama is as innovative and challenging as any in the world."
The creative team includes Carolyn Mraz (set), Ásta Bennie Hostetter (costumes), Lenore Doxsee (lights), Kate Marvin, David Herskovits and Eben Hoffer (sound), Aaron Ethan Green (props), Debra Caplan (dramaturg) and Kat Tharp (production manager). The production stage manager is Devorah Jaffe.
