News Performance Art Hall of Fame at NY's P.S. 122, May 13 On May 13, P.S. 122, the acclaimed downtown Manhattan venue, is holding a gala benefit celebrating performance art with some of the stars that started on its stage: Spalding Gray, Meredith Monk, Holly Hughes and Alien Comic.

On May 13, P.S. 122, the acclaimed downtown Manhattan venue, is holding a gala benefit celebrating performance art with some of the stars that started on its stage: Spalding Gray, Meredith Monk, Holly Hughes and Alien Comic.

There will also be a live auction of original artwork by artists including: Yoko Ono, R. Sikoryak, Dona Ann McAdams, Annie Sprinkle, Penny Arcade and Ron Athey. The evening will be hosted by Carmelita Tropicana (the upcoming Chicas 2000),

Founded in 1979, PS 122 has helped launch many other theatre artists and solo performers as well, including Blue Man Group, Karen Finley, Tim Miller and Eric Bogosian.

General admission seating is $125, with VIP seating available. For reservations call (212) 477-5288.

A new piece by Joanne Akalaitis, Tijean Blues: A Work in Progress, based on the life and writings of Jack Kerouac, originally scheduled for mid-April.

P.S. 122, on First Ave and 9th St., will also continue its "Spaghetti Dinner" series, featuring music, satire and fresh-cooked pasta.
