First performed at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre to SRO crowds in 1994, Peter Pan takes flight tonight once more from the Rep's stage with the help of a little fairy dust, and Flying by Foy. The legendary flying company also flew Mary Martin, Sandy Duncan, and Cathy Rigby in the Broadway and touring companies.

The beloved classic musical is lavishly produced in an action packed, fully costumed production. "Peter Pan is an excellent way to introduce children to live theatre," says director Brad Mooy. "There is so much action and excitement in this production that children will be totally mesmerized."

Going against the long established traditon of casting women in the title role, Mooy insisted in casting a male actor in the part. "As a child, I was confused watching a grown women pretending to be a boy. I found it very disturbing."

Steven Wilkerson, last seen in the Rep's production of Angels in America, plays the eternally youthful Pan.

Peter Pan opens tonight, November 21, and plays through December 29. Performances are Tuesdays through Saturdays at 8pm and at 2pm and 7pm on Sundays. Additional matinee dates are November 30, December 21, and December 27.
