Off-Broadway News Phillip Howze's Six Characters Sets World Premiere With Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3

Dustin Wills will direct the new work, with performances beginning in July.

Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 has added a world-premiere run for Phillip Howze's Six Characters to its upcoming season, with performances set to begin July 13 in the Claire Tow Theater Off-Broadway. Opening night will be July 29, with the limited engagement continuing through August 25. Dustin Wills is directing.

Described as a play about "power, belonging, and the institutions we build," the work follows a group who storm a renowned cultural center and wreak havoc. The cast will feature CG, Will Cobbs, Seven F. B. Duncombe, Claudia Logan, Julian Robertson, and Seret Scott.

The production will also have scenic design by Wills, costume design by Montana Levi Blanco, lighting design by Masha Tsimring, and sound design by Christopher Darbassie. Victoria Whooper will serve as stage manager.

LCT is currently presenting a Broadway revival of Uncle Vanya starring Steve Carell through June 16. Off-Broadway, The Bengsons' The Keep Going Songs is playing through May 26. This fall, the company will bring the world premiere of Ayad Akhtar's MCNEAL to Broadway, featuring Robert Downey Jr. in his Broadway debut.
