Nellie Almonte received the surprise of a lifetime when she attended the Jan. 9 performance of Off-Broadway's Miss Abigail's Guide to Dating. Her boyfriend Marc Oromaner, who was being utilized as one of the onstage volunteers, stopped the show, brought her onstage and popped the question. She enthusiastically accepted!

The show stars Eve Plumb, best known as Jan Brady on the TV classic "The Brady Bunch," and Manuel Herrera.

Here is a look at the surprise proposal:

Written by Ken Davenport (Altar Boyz, My First Time, The Awesome 80s Prom) and Sarah Saltzberg (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), the play — presented in an open-ended engagement — began previews at the Downstairs Cabaret Theater at Sofia’s Oct. 7. Davenport also directs.

Miss Abigail's Guide to Dating, Mating, & Marriage is based on Abigail Grotke's popular book and tells  the story of "Miss Abigail, the most sought-after relationship expert to the stars — think Dr. Ruth meets Emily Post — and her sexy sidekick Paco, as they travel the globe teaching Miss Abigail's outrageously funny 'how-tos' on dating, mating and marriage."

Show times are Wednesday at 2 PM, Thursday and Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 2 PM, 5 PM and 8 PM and Sunday at 3 PM and 7:30 PM.

Downstairs Cabaret Theater at Sofia's is located at 221 West 46th Street, next to the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. For ticket information visit
