The London productions of Wolf Hall and its sequel Bring Up the Bodies, based on the history novels by Hilary Mantel about Henry VIII, arrived on Broadway March 20 at the Winter Garden Theatre. Titled Wolf Hall, Parts 1 and 2 for American audiences, the production features the entire original London cast.

Mike Poulton adapted the double-bill for the stage. Wolf Hall, Parts 1 and 2 officially opens April 9. The productions, which are scheduled for a limited 15-week run, are directed by Jeremy Herrin

Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel, Playful Productions U.K.’s Matthew Byam Shaw, Nia Janis & Nick Salmon, and the Shubert Organization produce the Broadway run of the theatrical event, which theatregoers have the option to see in a single day (including a dinner break) or on separate days.

Original London stars Ben Miles (Thomas Cromwell), Lydia Leonard (Anne Boleyn) and Nathaniel Parker (King Henry VIII) repeat their performances in the Broadway production alongside fellow RSC members.

The plays premiered at Stratford-upon-Avon's Swan Theatre in January 2014 and transferred to the West End's Aldwych last May. The two plays tell the compelling story of Thomas Cromwell’s rise from blacksmith’s boy to Henry VIII’s chief fixer and deliverer of the King’s chosen bedfellows.

The production features scenic and costume design by Christopher Oram, lighting design by Paule Constable (Part 1) and David Plater (Part 2), sound design by Nick Powell, music by Stephen Warbeck and movement by Siân Williams.
