News PHOTO CALL: Actors’ Fund of America Throws Annual Bash in NYC The Actors’ Fund of America, the service organization that plays a major part in the cultural life of New York City, held its yearly gala at the glitzy Cipriani 42nd Street on May 8.

According to their website, The Actors' Fund of America “is a nonprofit, national human services organization that helps entertainment and performing arts professionals in theater, film, music, opera, television and dance through a broad spectrum of social, health, employment, and housing programs that address their essential and critical needs.” Most Broadway shows hold benefit performances for the Fund in which ticket sales are donated to its programs, in addition, the Fund's concert stagings of popular musicals are often big sellers with top-tier stars featured in the casts. At left, honoree Jed Bernstein is seen with Kate Burton, while honoree Alan Eisenberg and Lynn Redgrave enjoy the event.
