The production of the 1964 musical by Joseph Stein, Jerry Bock, and Sheldon Harnick features a new song written specifically for this incarnation. In keeping with tradition, this production boasts a sought-after director and popular lead actor, much as did the original production which was directed by Jerome Robbins and starred Zero Mostel. Fiddler on the Roof is in previews now for a Feb. 26 opening. The production is directed by David Leveaux, with settings by Tom Pye, costumes by Vicki Mortimer, lighting by Brian MacDevitt, and sound by Acme Sound Partners. It is being presented by James L. Nederlander, Scott Rudin/Paramount Pictures, Stewart Lane/Bonnie Comley, and Harbor Entertainment.
Both photographs feature Alfred Molina as Tevye.
