The film, with a screenplay by "Gangs of New York" scribe Jay Cocks and direction by Irwin Winkler, will provide a panaromic view of the prolific American songwriter who died in 1964. Porter is considered of the great wits of 20th century theatre songs, penning music and lyrics to classic tunes including "C'est Magnifique," "I Get a Kick Out of You," "You're the Top," "Night and Day" and "It's De-lovely", from which the film gets its title.

At left and below are recently released stills from the film, which is scheduled to premiere at this year's Cannes Film Festival on May 22, followed by limited release in the United States on June 25. The film also stars stage veteran Jonathan Pryce.

Cinematography is by Tony Pierce-Roberts.
