Mary Testa (LaChiusa's Marie Christine, See What I Wanna See) hosted the Jan. 10 benefit evening that featured male theatre stars singing songs from LaChiusa's catalog. The event was held on the Mainstage of Playwrights Horizons on West 42nd Street.

Cooper (The Life; Caroline, or Change), Kimball (Memphis, The Civil War) and Gemignani (Sweeney Todd, Sunday in the Park With George) joined a lineup that included Malcolm Gets (Tony & Drama Desk nominee of Amour; Merrily We Roll Along; A New Brain; Hello Again); Max von Essen (Xanadu, Les Miserables); Marc Kudisch (Tony Award nominee of 9 to 5; See What I Wanna See; Assassins); Steven Pasquale (reasons to be pretty, The Light in the Piazza); Andrew Samonsky (South Pacific, LaChiusa's Queen of the Mist); and Bobby Steggert (Tony Award nominee of Ragtime; The Grand Manner; Yank!).
The evening boasted the New York City premiere of songs from LaChiusa's new musicals Giant and Queen of the Mist.
The Broadway revival starring Steve Carell and William Jackson Harper opened April 24. Laurence Fishburne and Edie Falco were among those in attendance.
