Gregory Harrison and filmdom's Blythe Danner, currently heading the Roundabout revival cast of Follies, attended the American Theatre Wing's luncheon saluting women director-choreographers. Follies was choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, one of the guests of honor.
Since Julie Taymor won her Tony Award for The Lion King, the first for a woman musical director, women choreographers and directors have made major breakthroughs on the Great White Way. Marshall has three choreography credits out there - Kiss Me, Kate, Follies and Seussical - while Graciela Daniele has one: Annie Get Your Gun.
Also a performer, Anne Reinking is the only one actually out on Broadway. She recently joined the company of Fosse, where she plays opposite Bebe Neuwirth, with whom she starred in Chicago. Reinking won a Tony Award for Chicago's choreography and an Olivier Award for Fosse.
