The company of The Green Bird takes their opening night bow April 18 at the Cort Theatre. Produced by Theatre for a New Audience in 1996 after a run at the New Victory, The Green Bird is translated from the 18th Century play by Gozzi about a king who longs for his lost wife while brother-and sister twins search for their true identities. Bird, running at the Cort Theatre, takes its magical, other-worldly atomosphere from the mask and puppet skills of The Lion King director Julie Taymor.
