The workshop of I Am My Own Wife was the inaugural production of the La Jolla Playhouse's Page to Stage program, which focuses on developing new works. The one-man show begins previews for its world premiere at Playwrights Horizons in New York City in May. Doug Wright penned Quills, which featured Mays. Currently, About Face Theatre in Chicago is producing (in association with Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art) the final workshop of the piece before it arrives at Playwrights Horizons.
