News PHOTO CALL: Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake Invades Times Square The male dancers of Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake, the three-time Tony Award-winning modern reinterpretation of the legendary ballet, took on Times Square the morning of Oct. 13.

Swan Lake — which is set to the famed Tchaikovsky score — debuted in London in 1995 and landed on Broadway in 1998, earning Bourne Tony Awards for direction and choreography. Swan Lake was later televised on PBS' "Great Performances" and featured in the film "Billy Elliot."

Swan Lake will star a mix of established New Adventures performers and newcomers. Richard Winsor and Jonathan Ollivier will return to the role of The Swan following their 2009 debuts; the role of the Prince will be shared by Dominic North and Simon Williams; the role of The Queen will be played by American dancer and original Broadway cast member Nina Goldman; sharing the roles of both The Queen and The Girlfriend will be veteran New Adventures company member Madelaine Brennan; The Girlfriend will also be played by New Adventures veteran Shelby Williams; and the role of The Private Secretary will be shared by New Adventures resident director Steve Kirkham and company member Ashley Bain.
