News PHOTO CALL: McKean and Steppenwolf Company Ready Letts' Donuts Michael McKean and the cast of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of Tracy Letts' Superior Donuts met the press as they began rehearsals for the upcoming Broadway run.

Tina Landau directs the work, which will play Broadway's Music Box Theatre. Previews begin Sept. 16 toward an Oct. 1 opening.

The entire 2008 world-premiere Chicago cast reprise their roles for Broadway. Joining McKean in the ensemble are Jane Alderman, Kate Buddeke, Cliff Chamberlain, Michael Garvey, Jon Michael Hill, James Vincent Meredith, Robert Maffia and Yasen Peyankov.

"Arthur Przybyszewski owns a decrepit donut shop in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago," read Superior Donuts materials. "Franco Wicks, a black teenager who is his only employee, wants to change the shop for the better. This provocative comedy, set in the heart of one of Chicago's most diverse communities, explores the challenges of embracing the past and the redemptive power of friendship."
