The National Broadway Theatre Awards, which honor national touring productions across the United States, chose their first Best Actress in a Musical and in a Play - Louise Pitre of Mamma Mia! (far left) and Sherri Parker Lee of The Vagina Monologues (far right). Tony Award winner Alan Cumming and former Aida star Sheri Rene Scott hosted the event.
Other winners at the first annual National Broadway Theatre Awards, open to any theatre-goer and voted on by 15,000 tour attenders, included Ragtime for Best Musical, Dame Edna for Best Play (creator Barry Humphries also took home the Best Actor Award) and "'Til We Reach That Day (1st Act Finale)" from Ragtime was named Best Song.
