News PHOTO CALL: Rapp's Kindness Opens Off-Broadway Adam Rapp's Kindness opened Off-Broadway Oct. 13 in a world premiere production by Playwrights Horizons.

Annette O'Toole, Christopher Denham, Ray Anthony Thomas and Katherine Waterston star in the production at the Off-Broadway company's Peter Jay Sharp Theater. Playwright Rapp also directed. Kindness begins when "an ailing mother (O'Toole) and her teenaged son (Denham) flee Illinois and a crumbling marriage for the relative calm and safety of a midtown Manhattan hotel," according to show notes. "Mom holds tickets to a popular musical about love among bohemians. Her son isn't interested. So Mom takes the kindly cabdriver (Thomas) instead, while the boy entertains an enigmatic, potentially dangerous young woman (Waterston) from down the hall."
