Lauren Bacall starred as Margo Channing in Applause, an "All About Eve" musicalization that played for 896 performances at the Palace Theatre. Betty Comden and Adolph Green didn't contribute the lyrics, scripting only the book for the Charles Strouse-Lee Adams tuner. Applause won the pair a Tony Award for Best Musical.
