The Tale of the Allergist's Wife is proud of their costume designer, Ann Roth, recipient of the Lifetime Achievement in Costume Design Award March 31. With Roth (second from right) are (left to right) Allergist's Wife star Michelle Lee, playwright Charles Busch and Manhattan Theatre Club artistic director Lynne Meadow, who directed the comedy.
Three-time Tony award and Oscar nominee, Roth won the Best Costume Oscar in 1996 for "The English Patient." She was also up for an Oscar for "The Talented Mr. Ripley," in 1999. Her award, the Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award, is presented to a designer whose work "embodies those qualities of excellence represented in the life work of Irene Sharaff: a keen sense of color, a feeling for material and texture, an eye for shape and form and a sure command of the craft."
