News PHOTO CALL: Second Stage Presents The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity Off-Broadway's Second Stage Theatre presents Pulitzer Prize finalist Kristoffer Diaz's pro-wrestling drama, The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity.

Edward Torres — who staged the play's Chicago premiere at Victory Gardens Theater — directs for the New York premiere. Terence Archie stars in the title role opposite Michael T. Weiss with original Chicago cast members Usman Ally, Desmin Borges and Christian Litke.

In The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity, "Macedonio 'The Mace' Guerra is a middle rank pro-wrestler who may have discovered his ticket to the big time: a charismatic, trash-talking Indian kid from Brooklyn whom he recruits as the perfect foil to the All-American champion, Chad Deity," according to show notes. "But when their rivalry is used to exploit racial stereotypes in the name of ratings, all three men find themselves fighting for much more than the championship title."

Here is a first look at the Off-Broadway production:
